Screen Replacement ߀” Step by Step
Tools needed
- Plastic pry tools / spudger
- PH0 / PH00 screwdriver
- Suction cup (helps on tight bezels)
Steps
- Power off and remove the battery or disconnect it
- Remove the bezel: pry carefully from a corner using a plastic tool ߀” most bezels are held by clips; some have hidden screws under rubber bungs
- Remove the panel screws: usually 4 screws (two each side) securing the panel to the hinge bracket
- Tilt the panel forward onto the keyboard deck
- Disconnect the eDP cable: carefully peel back the tape, then pull the connector straight out ߀” never pull by the cable
- Disconnect the webcam cable if routed through the screen assembly
- Fit the new panel: connect eDP cable, press firmly until seated, tape it back down

Backlight Issues vs Panel Failure
